GANYC celebrated the beginning of our 50th Anniversary year with an evening cocktail gala at 92nd Street Y New York (1395 Lexington Avenue), with 150 guests in attendance.
In addition to being a fun party, the event featured speeches from GANYC President Michael Morgenthal, NFTGA President Michael Dillinger, NYC Tourism + Conventions CEO Fred Dixon, and NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection Commissioner Vilda Vera Mayuga. The event also featured a reading of Mayor Eric Adams's proclamation declaring March 1st, 2024 as Guides Association of New York City Day, read by Patrick Casey, and Harvey Davidson presenting the 2024 Lee Gelber Award for Guiding Spirit to honoree Marc Landman.
Guests were provided food by sponsors Sojourn Social, Azalea Ristorante, and The Pickle Guys, as well as GANYC members Susan Birnbaum, Bob Gelber and Sara Lyons. Drinks were provided by the bar staff at 92nd Street Y.

BIG APPLE SOUR
Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces bourbon
3/4 ounce triple sec
1 1/4 ounces apple juice
1/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 dashes orange bitters
Instructions:
In a cocktail shaker, pour the bourbon, triple sec, apple juice, lemon juice, and orange bitters. Shake well.
Strain into a chilled old-fashioned glass over fresh ice.
